WHO WE ARE

Our team of coaches all have one thing in common -- they are extremely passionate about helping our members achieve fitness results that transfer to all areas of life. The community of members is some of the most encouraging and supportive people you'll find.
  • LaTisha “Raven” Wilkinson

    Head Coach, Founder/President

    LaTisha is originally from Alaska, born and raised.  She travels back home every summer for 7 weeks to commercial fish in the cold waters of Bristol Bay, Naknek Alaska. This is part of her Native Athabaskan culture.  Her passion is God, family, fitness & fishing.

    Upon a military move that brought her to Mississippi she saw a need for fitness in the Ocean Springs community. Her passion for all types of fitness led her to open CrossFit Ocean Springs in November 2011.

    Her quote: “I don’t believe in guilt. As long as you never intentionally hurt another person, and don’t judge people in your life, I think you should live completely free. If I make a fool of myself, who cares? I’m not frightened by anyone’s perception of me.”

  • Shane Wilkinson

    Coach, Programmer, Owner

    Shane specializes in developing strength and conditioning programs for all ranges of fitness — beginner to advanced athletes. My passion lies in helping people to reach their goals and milestones.

    “I love our members and appreciate them to the fullest. Without them sharing their goals with us and trusting that we can help them achieve those dreams, there wouldn’t be a CrossFit Ocean Springs.”

    I fell in love with CrossFit  after leaving Combat Control Training. I quickly began absorbing knowledge on exercise and nutrition and was soon training other friends in the military.

  • Mike Panasuk

    Coach

    Mike Panasuk is a coach here at CrossFit Ocean Springs. He specializes in Olympic Weightlifting and has a keen eye for programming supplemental movements that provide tremendous results in the main lifts. Mobility designed to prevent injuries is a huge part of each of his classes.

    “I looked like a deer in the headlights the first time I walked into a CrossFit box. I had worked out, but never done CrossFit. The coaches at the box made me feel welcome. When a new person walks through the door, I treat them the same way I was treated on day 1.”

    Mike comes to CrossFit Ocean Springs as a collegiate wrestler. The community aspect of CrossFit Ocean Springs is the perfect fit for someone like Mike that thrives in a team environment.

    “The most exciting moment is watching an athlete reach one of their goals they set out to accomplish. Whether it’s helping someone get their very first box jump or muscle up, having even a small part in that makes me proud to be a coach and excited to see them improve.”

  • Dee Scott

    Coach

    As a coach at CrossFit Ocean Springs, Dee Scott is passionate about helping members achieve beyond what they thought possible. “There is no better feeling than seeing someone not only reach a personal goal, but blow it out the water with hard work and persistence!”

    Dee comes to us from a high school and collegiate cheerleading background where he was part of 5 National Championship teams. He was also a member of Team USA, representing the United States in the World Cheerleading Championships.

    Prior to coaching CrossFit, he coached tumbling and cheerleading. Needless to say, he specialty at CrossFit Ocean Springs is gymnastics.

    “I love to see how close our members are. People don’t just come in to workout, they are like family. Cracking jokes with each other and just having a blast. It is a community, not just another gym.”

  • Emily Satterfield

    Coach

    Emily has a competitive athletic background that includes swimming, dance, gymnastics, softball, soccer, track and field, cross country, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, and equitation.  While being a part of all these teams was rewarding, none of these sports ever inspired her in the way that CrossFit has.  She currently works as a Marine Biologist for the state of Mississippi.

    She is passionate about all things outdoors and always looking for the next new experience.

    I love to coach because CrossFit made me better at life.  It’s been life changing for me, and helping others change their lives for the better is a reward beyond measure.

  • Troie Barker

    Coach

    Troie was born and raised in NC. He joined the Navy as a Meteorologist/Oceanographer in 2013.

    “I am thankful for all the experiences it has brought me, as well as all the different people I have met along the way, when I’m not exercising, I enjoy coffee, movies, live music, FOOD, air drumming/guitaring, traveling, and being silly.”

    Coaching: To better other people, as well as myself.  Coaching allows me to learn about people, as well as them learning about me, and that in turn creates camaraderie.  When I see people succeed and progress, then I have achieved the ultimate goal and satisfaction of coaching.

  • Justin Lewis

    Coach

    Justin Lewis first introduced to Crossfit while in the police academy. He is a full time law enforcement officer since 2005, a experienced firearms instructor, field training officer, and SWAT team member. Justin knows the importance of fundamentals, paying attention to detail, and discipline. He can also relate Crossfit to real world scenarios and can draw on his professional experience to help coach new athletes and help them to reach their goals.

     “You’ve got to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else. To me fitness isn’t just about strength, looking better, or stress relief. It’s also about being able to help family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers. We do this every time we cheer on and push the last person to finish a WOD. They may be doing the same for us on another WOD. That’s one of my favorite aspects of Crossfit and the community that it is.”
